Flu season is upon us!
Don't put it off - Get the flu jab now!
Book your appointment now for your free flu vaccine, if you're in one of the groups below:
Who Is At Risk?
- Children aged 2 to 3 years old on 31 August 2023
- Pregnant Women
- People living with certain long-term medical conditions that increase the chance of becoming seriously unwell with flu
- Everyone aged 65 years and over
- People who receive a carer’s allowance, or are the main carer for an older or disabled person who may be at risk if the carer gets sick
- Close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
Flu infections happen from September to March
Last winter the flu spread quite early and the number of people with flu was highest in December. Don't delay getting your vaccine! This protects you, your loved ones and our whole community.
Around 50 thousand people in England were admitted to hospital with flu last year. Having the vaccine will reduce this number, and will keep hospitals running for the clinic appointments, operations and emergency visits that you or others may need.
Any of us can catch flu, even when we're healthy and well. Be aware that you can have a flu infection without any symptoms and yet still be infectious to others.
